Ike...I'm sure that Sandeep's comments stem from the malaise that affects many--ignorance. If he would read the previous 40887 posts on this thread (but that would take work), I'm sure he would rethink what he says.<G> If only we could drop smart(read intelligence) bombs.

Ike, I know you are against any terrorist activities. In the last few days though, I see the Pakistani president being duplicitous about the terrorist activities committed after Sep 11 in Kashmir. Having said that, I do think Pakistan strongman Musharraf is coming across as a reasonable man..

Uncle,I'm afraid people in your part of the world know very little about America and the kind of people we are. They view us though TV programs and movies of Hollywood. Baywatch maybe great entertainment but it gives a distorted view of life in America. Those who migrate to America from your part of the world are surprised by America's work ethic and dedication. Such work ethics do not make for good movies. I'm always told of the great adjustments these new immigrates have to make many come away in shock and disbelief. I'm told how different America really is compared to way the way we are viewed from abroad. The freedom they experience here causes them to stay especially after return visits to their homelands. This perception causes many to believe we are a weak and frivolous people who will back down when confronted. How little they know of us and our history.One of the reasons Japan attacked is they believed America would sue for peace once our Navy were left in ruins. Few in the world understand this lesson. They prefer to remember only Vietnam when we were fighting a war which was not ours. We are a people who seldom agree on anything but when attacked this giant rises with a purpose and a fury that few can imagine.Wait until another strike against America happens. Do they not realize that the power America unleashed in the Gulf War was but a tiny fraction of our capabilities? I wish you well Uncle and hope this will be a swift and quick war with few innocents hurt but I fear this will be a long and bloody struggle.

Hi Ike, Will you now join me in condemning like I condemn Pakistani forces for violence in Kashmir that Indian forces may stop this violence and give Kashmiris under unanimous UN resolution of 1948 pending in cold storage right of self determination? Will you join me to raise voice for 350,000,000 untouchables who are considered untouchables as human beings? this is somewhat tough to take. Reality is distorted to a great extent. From where I come from (southern india), we do dine out/with/at "untouchables" (forgive me for using the word... because we don't call them that they are untouchables) house. We do invite/attend functions at our houses. Situation is lot better than the media reports. Untouchables as a class is actually a privileged class IMHO. However, I am not going to brag about the injustice done to them in the past. Reservation system has actually leveled the playing field for them and it is trying to make amends for the past mistake. Educating the people against the problem is the best way to tackle the problem. Untouchability is the problem of ignorance and not one of hatred. Will someone else join me to say that this violence in Palestine has to stop? Violence against any innocent has to stop. The only way to love our own country or creed is to see our mistakes, realise them and still love our country and try to make amends? Very well said. cnn.com above URL shows that Pakistan and its rulers encouraged terrorism. Its President/CEO/dictator/army general is a person who encouraged terrorism and now he is changing face. IMO. If Pakistan, Current dictator of Pakistan aka President Mushraff did not encourage hijaking of Indian plane and giving sanctuary to these hijackers. We would not have to witness Sept 11, 2001 and loosing precious lives. This dictator, who threw away legal democratic govt. in Pakistan along with its ISI (CIA of Pakistan) did not arrest these hijackers and look they bank rolled these hijackers of Sept. 11. IMHO this dictator aka Mushraff and Taliban are two sides of same coin. These hijakers of Indian plane were barking in the name of ISLAM in Pakistan, this dictator or his police turned blind eye. We should tell this dictator to hand over those hijackers of Indian plane to us instead of India. IMHO. We should not stop this time. Root out all forms of Terrorism that exists in the name of religion or this dictator aka President Mushraff label it. Also, our aid should be contingent upon democratic rules and not feeding these Army Generals who change their hat daily in Pakistan or anywhere in the world. IMHO. Iqbal, you are a great guy, to be able to speak against the dictator of your country. But what I read from history, you are wrong on Kashmir issue. King of Kashmir acceded to India so UN resolution is meaningless, it is shame you bring up this and not highlighting how all the dictators of Pakistan including present one have destroyed Pakistan, created terror in India, in the name of Islam & hatred of India. India is a real power and pakistan is a begging state, its like mosquito biting a human body, LOL. I really feel sorry for the Pakistani people to have put up with crap from Army General's to Mullah's. No need to respond. IMHO. Let us weed out terrorism in all form and shapes. Go USA.
