flappy, you are an asshole or you are one truly stupid retarded individual of what it is to be an
American. When you use loaded words like unpatriotic in a time of crisis like this taking
every political point and trying to say your way is patriotic and to disagree is unpatriotic is
my definition of an asshole.

Finding fuel to give Americans the choice not to have to use lightweight vehicles that will kill
thousands is the patriotic duty of the President.

Not taking the peoples money by decision is very patriotic of the President.

Only an asshole would take every issue that you don't like and say well if someone
disagrees they are unpatriotic.

<<People who drive gas-guzzling SUVs are unpatriotic. >>

Good point, they should be banned. Then when the people who make and assemble the parts for SUVs are laid off you can do your patriotic little union dance about the suits unfairly laying off the little guys.

Gee, the General Motors guy at the Buick dealership that tried to sell me one didn't seem like a traitor.

Should the GM execs be tried for treason?

What makes your morality and patriotism so superior?

To suggest that anyone who drives an SUV is unpatriotic is absurd in the extreme. Allow me to highlight an example which brings home to point in crystal clarity for you...

Is that 20 year old special forces person climbing around the mountains of Afghanistan tonight, putting his life on the line for his country, unpatriotic because he enjoyes his family feeling safe and comfortable while he's away from home??

Tossing vile statements like that around is the height of anti-intellectualism and empty rhetoric. Your reasoning is deeply flawed.

If you want to make a case regarding use of higher gas-miliege vehicles, I suggest you remove the emotional rhetoric and attempt some critical thinking.

Allow me to ask a few questions as you begin this search.

1. If driving a gas guzzling SUV is unpatriotic, what level of MPG is patriotic. If I get 15 MPG driving an old beat up chevy van, I am just as unpatriotic? How about 25MPG is that unpatriotic? Do we ALL need to be driving vehicles which get 40MPG in order to meet your "patriotism" criteria?

2. Are all owners of boats, RV's, large trucks, planes, helicopters, race-cars, also "unpatriotic", because, those vehicles get poor gas mileage?

3. If gas mileage is the such an unpatriotic issue, shouldn't large homes which consume lots of energy also fall into the same catagory? After all, why should someone need a 4000 square foot home when 1500 square feet works just fine?

The way to prove one's case on this board is through intelligent reasoning and clear writing.
People who drive gas-guzzling SUVs are unpatriotic. I do not know whether you drive a vehicle that gets 13 mpg highway. If you do, you are unpatriotic.

Move to Saudi Arabia if you wish to drive a gas-guzzling vehicle.

I'm real interested in an intellectual explaination of this. I drive an 1995 F-150 that gets 10-13 MPG. It suits my business needs and I can haul my family around safely. Why do you say I am unpatriotic?

Flap Jaw

You wrote "People who drive gas-guzzling SUVs are unpatriotic."

Colin Powell, Dick Cheney, Rudy Guilani and even Wild Bill Clinton drive SUV's. If I'm unpatriotic, I'm in good company...ehem...except for Wild Bill. He just likes em cause they have a alot of back seat leg room.

Hey I will drive a f***ing M1A1 tank if I want to cause I'm rich and American. If other people are offended screw'em. You're a tree hugger aren't you? Chill out. I'm sure there's oil under Afghanistan, so when were done bombing the shit out of it we'll just start drill'in and hey, we'll have more oil than we could use for the next 400 years. The solution to the american oil shortage isn't using less, It's getting the rag heads at opec to quit bustin our balls and pump more. I say we just go take it. Gas will cost 15 cents a gallon again like it should and those pricks won't have money to waste pissin off the rest of the world.
