Not true.


is that why intel's c++ compiler fails to compile legal code sometimes ?

to be more serious though, i don't agree with gopher either. the main difference is that a compiler is SOFTware and one can accept bugs and release patches which is difficult to do if you etch layers on a piece of silicon.
