Statement is true. Unions don't spring up in places where everything's peachy. Supply and demand.

Re: "Are those who form unions angels?" Hell, no. But then again, I don't want "angels" going to bat for my rights when management decides it's going to raid my pension plan so as to increase the corporate bottom line. I want fighters in my corner, not angels.

Prediction:

TN Senator Bill Frist, who is leading the GOP's drive to retake the Senate in 2002 and depose smarmy Senate Plurality Leader Daschle, will become the next Senate Majority Leader in 2003.

Somewhat farther out:

I wouldn't doubt that Frist becomes President after GWB leaves office in 2009.
