Jim, about immunization ... I'm not sure what the deal is South of the Canadian border, but those of use living North of it who were born 1972 or earlier have been immunized for smallpox.

About Cipro...

A couple or so years ago I read a book called "Bitter Pills" written by Stephen M. Fried -- and it's a pretty good read into the dangers and side effects of the powerful antibiotic floxin. Ciprofloxin has neuro-toxic side effects, things like manic-depressive illness and a seizures and affects close to 20% of the people that ingest it.

Jim. I'll tell you what it will take to get America focused

on what has to be done to win. Being hit with one or more suitcase nuke attacks. IMO it's inevitable that we'll continue to be hammered with one massive terrorist attack after another culminating with a nuke. The reason is simply the complete failure of our nonfunctional central government apparatus to protect domestic security. It's only a question of time until we lose an entire city.

We've only seen wave one of the terror offensive. (1 1/4 waves if you include the anthrax attacks)

The FBI should simply be renamed FUBAR. It's endless parade of botched operations, fiascos, and failed investigations now include dropping the ball on the anthrax probe.

And here's why they can't pursue this investigation or protect this country. The agency is in shambles! Ashcroft has been spending most of his time at the FBI complex unsuccessfully trying to make that pathetic politically compromised wreck function!

jim,

Your enthusiasm is understandable, but your program did not define the enemy (unless all who praise Allah are the enemy) , did not find the enemy (The Saudis? c'mon, man!) and did not set goals for what to call a victory (nuking every Islamic nation will raise some questions in the UN).

It's not that easy. It is not that simple.
Many Arab leaders are our best friends against Islamic terrorism. They have suffered from it for two-three decades and suppressed it with great force so they would not be overthrown in religious revolution like the Iranian Shah.
The northern alliance in Afghanistan were our allies against the Soviet Union. God knows were the hundreds of Stinger ground-air missiles we gave them are hidden now.
Those Mojahideen (sp?) fought a Jihad (Islamic holy war) against the Soviets. What makes them better then the Taliban?
