Well, it looks like AMD is partnering with UMC (from various reports posted on the web). Here are some specs on UMCs 0.13u, low-k, copper interconnect process:

Should make for some fast processors.

This is hardly about pity. For me, this is almost completely about how my investment self-interest will be served. Who will now provide a counter balance to eternal optimism that posters on this thread have about a company that has at best, sucked, as an investment ? Half its price of 1983 level in one of the hottest growth area of last 2 decades! It simply has not climbed out of the rut as an investment.

I follow this thread to get a balanced view of where AMD stands as an company to invest in and how it competes against Intel. Paul has been right a lot more than wrong about Intel and AMD (many may find it hard to admit that). If one can find a way to look beyond his noise, there is money to be made from his signal more often than not. As simple as that.
