Ali, You are absolutely correct stating that, "Rambus has never had an real option to manufacture anything" and the reason is that rambus continues to pursue the Semiconductor Intellectual Property model... I really do not understand what is your major hangup with Rambus. Are you against companies filing patent applications based upon their Research and Development? If so, I guess you also hate Intersil and possibly Qualcomm, right?

thats why rmbs will lic. their ip for a measly 1.5 to 3.5 % of gross. i don't understand your reasoning. let's say i build boat engines. mr. rambus come to me and offers a new way to make my engines run faster than the compitition. he gives me ALL the engineering and a support staff to impliment his invention,charges me a nominal lic. fee and i pay him 2% of the gross on any parts in my engine using his IP. whats the problem? thats CHEAP. i don't have engineer or design anything. it's WIN-WIN. the only way i can be bitter is if i am paying and someone else is not. (like ifx - mu- hynix. ) you don't have to use rmbs ip. just pay them if you do! rocky
