I'd go for the national ID. In Illinois we have the gun owner's card and have had for 30 years. Oddest thing, if you are 70 you need to show a driver's license to buy alcohol, but the gun card as a photo ID won't work even though it's checked and issued by the state.

Do you really think foreign visitors here shouldn't even be able to rent a hotel room or a car?

Oh, I guess that means THEY need to have some kind of I.D., right?

Well, then, why not make THEM get the I.D. cards, instead of 280 million of US?

Larry Ellison just wants to boost his business. This is silly. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be.

BTW, Tom Siebel seems to have come up with a better idea, to just identify and track foreign visitors. Doesn't that make a WHOLE LOT MORE SENSE?

Michael M,

The "Book Of Revelations" of the Holy Christian Bible, written around 2,000 years ago, says that there will come a time that no person can buy, or sell, without the number of the beast. That time will usher in the "end times". If anyone wants to ridicule such a thought, go right ahead, but do not attempt to prevent me from believing what I feel like believing.
