Shootie seemed to refer to a canned version of ozone. I wondered if it really was true and could be done, or if it was wishful thinking....I suppose under zero or close to zero pressure of a can, it could be done, but then it would break down as soon as it encountered the normal atmosphere....?

Also, is ozone inert in itself, or does it make other gases inert ? I mean, the equation i presented, (2O3 ==> 3O2) represented the inert nature of ozone in that it does not combine with any other gas, just breaks down into oxygen and ions and the ions further combine to form more oxygen. But if shootie's statement is true, that its ions react with other gases, then ozone itself would not be deemed to be inert, would it ? A single atom of oxygen is a very dangerous element - it can virtually combine with anything in our atmoshere, but perhaps it always needs a catalyst ? My assumption was that of its own free will, it doesn't combine with anything at all....2 of those those O's just lump together to produce more Oxygen....

But I really hated inorganic chemistry in school, and really did get a "D" in it, so this is just loud thinking...

And as for the homemade generator, who will I sue if it doesn't work well ??? LOL

Yeah, you would know better than I but I've had ozone generators in my office for years. I smoke cigars.

Don't recall it as being a big deal to get one or that they were real expensive. Expense is a relative term though. I'm one of those "You see it, you like it, you buy it" types.

Can't help it. Instead of new sneakers I had to put cardboard in the insole. Budgets ain't important after a childhood like that.

Careful with home made ozone systems, when Ozone exceeds few ppm in the atmosphere, it becomes a lethal poison.
