We have separation of church and state. The Spanish didn't.

If having a university system where no white male can be hired in the Liberal Arts programs, if having a press that voted 97 % for Bill Clinton and where the PC doctrine is the law of the land is a sign of being far to the right than I would hate like hell to see what your version of the left is. I suppose I could just read about the good old days in Russia to get a glimpse of the rapturous joys of your Left

Interesting thing about this thread is all the tidbits that are uncovered....like we have a university system where no white persons can be hired in a liberal arts program. Just amazing stuff. <s>

I've tried practicing "Church of America", but it doesn't have a ring to it. But it looks like I should keep practicing.

Some months ago I read a Gallup survey where they asked "Do you approve or disapprove of Pres. Bush and why? Just a free form collection of responses parsed by approve and disapprove and you could go through all the reasons. One of the most depressing surveys I've ever read. Virtually every response went along the lines of I approve becasue I'm Rep or I disapprove because I'm a Dem...and those were some of the more intelligent reasons. There was on the order of 850+ responses, so it wasn't a statistically insignificant sample.

It helped me appreciate though why we have all the slogan campaigning as opposed to detailed deliberation.
