DlphcOracl:
I use Comcast - working fine this AM - but just checked both my Excite homepage and Comcast page - nothing on either about status.

Wouldn't you think they would want to use the power of broadband to keep us customers apprised? ...guess not...

OT

Very strange - there were posts earlier in the thread about a judge ordering Excite@home to cease service as of midnight last night. (The bondholders objected to the AT&T purchase offer.) But if you are still on the Internet then I am quite puzzled, since I am on AT&T too.

I use @Home in Chicago and the service is down this morning...

A recording on the customer service line says AT&T Broadband wants to switch customers over to its own Broadband Internet Network within the next 10 days. They claim they will provide 2 days credit for every day service is interrupted --> IMO, this is less than ideal. AT&T could have found a better way to handle this. They are trying to negotiate at the last minute and pick up assets at well below their market price. They are sacrificing long-term customer relationships. I know many small businesses in the Midwest that use @Home and talked with a few friends last night who are actively exploring alternatives (like AOL & Ameritech which both offer high speed DSL service or the DishNet Satellite Internet service). Once folks switch it will be hard to get them back. AT&T should take some customer service lessons from Nordstrom...=) Some of us are dealing with the old AOL dial-up alternative this morning and WE ARE NOT HAPPY CAMPERS AT ALL. This could have been avoided and I predict that this may cost AT&T a lot of business unless they resolve things quickly. Just my views.

Best Regards,

Scott

Delphi on the Iraq matter we are "kicking around"(will they or won't they risk a breakage of the coalition over the matter of Iraq?) a fellow named Kevin Pollack of the Council of Foreign Relations may have provided the clue as to why the U.S.Government keeps hinting Iraq could well be phase two of their overall plan.
As per Mr.Pollack--he says the U.S. Government feels the longer they delay action regards Iraq the higher the risk they will be faced with the news they do NOT want to hear;that being that the Iraq has developed the atomic bomb and have it as a reality.
There apparently is genuine concern that Iraq is still moving towards bringing this event to reality.max
