I don't see why he should be treated any differently than the other foreign nationals (Arabs, Pakistanis, Chechens, etc) who are fighting with Bin Laden or Al Queda.

Mrs. McKie asked me that question last night. American Citizen takes up arms against the U.S.....sounds like treason to me. IMO, he should be treated differently. He should be tried for treason. trea·son (trzn) n. Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. A betrayal of trust or confidence.

I say make him clean up public restrooms at rest stops along the highways no telling how or why that dud ended up in that role...I'd wait before rushing to judgement. Is it possible he was somehow mixed up in the heroin trade and ended up in that position in an attempt to save his skin?
