You clearly think that believing in God is the superior position. I don't think I've ever used that term. I'm not sure what you mean by a "superior" position. OTOH, if you mean that those who believe the earth is round hold a superior position to those who believe the earth is flat, maybe you're right.

I think the difference is that we're using the term belittle differently. I don't see disagreeing on issues as automatically belittling. If it were, then politicians would be belittling each other all the time, environmentalists would be forever belitting business people -- and indeed my wife and I would be belittling each other when we disagreed about what color we should paint the bathroom. I use the term more selectively, I guess. Not to belittle your usage of it, though! <bg>
