My 2 cents. I don't like moderated boards. They tend to become private clubs with cultural convergence. Also, who will moderate? BF is overdoing the pessimism but it's just his way of dealing with whatever situation the Nasdaq bust has put him in. You can guarantee that he'll desist sooner or later. He'll wake up one morning and decide that he feels better now after his extended creative writing therapy or action in the economy and market will make his views obsolete.

Having a moderated thread would work. A better idea, though, is just to use Ignore, as I have. Why do people feel compelled to respond, or even to read, the posts of someone they find consistently irritating?

Baldur is using the Thread as toilet. The Financial Collapse of 2001 and Beyond (moderated) already exist. Baldur would be accepted there as long as he obeys the 'spirit' of the Thread.

He should express opinions, not paste willy nilly conspiracy theories.

Before I start considering seriously the Ignore button, Lucky still has some headroom left. At least compared to the absolute top performance of some lurker (no names - let's say I dont remember the name anymore) with a barrage of mudwrestling (yikes...) posts on this thread - CB could probably PM further details, in necessary, for comparison purposes -.

Hmmm... Yes, It's much harder now to follow the thread of *discussion* that once characterized this board. Kind of like everyone has a newspaper in front of their face.

I seem to recall SI's TOU explicitly forbids high message posting rate and cutting and pasting of content in violation of copyright. So if anyone was *really* annoyed it's not like the guy hasn't trailed enough rope around his neck to do the job.

Some of the information is topical and on point. But I'd rather it was one post with a dozen articles linked (a la Jay) than a dozen posts with one article each.

HINT HINT

As to moderated thread, there is one already, isn't there?
