I didn't know this to be the case...even though the Russians are now are our "friends". As of Dec5, the United States had 550 ICBMs and 432 SSLBMs. Further under SALT II, the United States eventually removes multiple warheads from their ICBMs, and reduces the SSLBMs to 336 (and the number of warheads on SSLBMs in half). re: "If we can maintain 2300 massively destructive nuclear weapons to protect 300 million, why shouldn't the Chinese be allowed to build a 150 to protect themselves." I have no idea where the 2300 comes from...but I think you are mixing warheads, and comparing them to the number of missiles the Chinese are planning to build. Since the Chinese apparently "borrowed" the technology for multiple warheads on a missile (ala MX-Peacekeeper), and are not limited to any Arms Agreement like START I or II (that I know of) those 150 missile could carry up to 1500 nuclear weapons. The United States in 1990 had over 7000 nuclear weapons at the end of missiles, last December it was less than 4,900, by 2007 it will be no more than 2250. re:"And now we are going to build a useless shield which further threatens China" Please explain how a shield threatens China? It merely hinders China's FUTURE ability to launch ICBMs and hit the United States. Didn't a Chinese General say that he thought the United States liked its West Coast cities too much to stand in the way of an invasion of Taiwan?

Yours is an Extremist viewpoint, that's for sure...what would you do if the country you have sworn to protect to your best ability is attacked, and not only thousands of American citizens are killed and injured, but several hundred of the World's people are also killed and injured .... I ask you again, what would you do? You say: The current admin has been too busy sabre rattling for any country to think we want peace.

Return Chinese occupied provinces and annexed nations to the independence and free self determination of the peoples living there, currently enslaved by the COMMUNISTS and PLA. Then China is not a threat to anyone, that is right, I mean dismantle the CHINESE COMMUNIST EMPIRE PERIOD. It worked for the Soviet Union. It worked for the British Empire, the French Empire, The Ottoman Empire, the Spanish Empire. Divide China or China will Conquer. Divide China or detroy it altogether, it is not just our choice, but cooler heads in China can choose Freedom also, if they do not, we will at some point be forced to decide and take action accordingly. I applaud India and applaud Musharrif of Pakistan even more, as they push the islamic militant extremists of the ISI out of power in the southern Asian oil rich region Coveted by fanatics and most of all by Communist Chinese strategic planners.
