it seems logical that i845E chips will be in fact rejected i845G chips (having an embedded graphics disabled), as it happened with i815/E and i815/E/P chipsets.

This is almost certainly not the case, either for the i845G or the i815/X.

I find this very hard to believe. I will be very very surprised if this is indeed true.
