Keith:

You always make a lot of sense. Keep it up. So many posters out there are "determined" to talk QCOM down. They insist that DR J tell them what they want to hear and what they want to hear is bad news even if there is no bad news.

When I go back and read some of the posts of the past few days I want to wretch. But I just hold my breath. I guess it is true that one "sees" what he insists on seeing whether it is out there or not.

Now the string of write-offs for Qualcomm are over - Globalstar is in bankruptcy and Vesper loans have been consolidated to the tune of $50 million.

Wanna make a bet on Pegaso? Also, dbl check your figures on the investment in Vesper.

Keith, it matters to me because it strikes at the heart of how Americans trust their institutions. I am a short term trader now for that very reason...I can not trust the numbers these guys are feeding us. The only thing I can trust is my trading system. The second I start mucking it up with...

Buy stocks in good companies.
Good companies will turn around.
Technology is here to stay.
XYZ has a tremendous promise.
QCOM has stellar management and has rock solid patents.

...I lose my edge and my money.

Just for the hell of it I'll tell what I am doing right now:
I am short two stocks (won't mention those cuz I don't think its a good idea).
Short QQQ.
Long on NEM.
Bought long MRK at the close today with tight stop loss. Not interested in visiting the low 50's.
Closed out a profitable trade on OIH today.
I'll come back next Friday and tell ya what I did.

What you say about QCOM is true. But it doesn't mean you'll make money on the investment.

Good luck to you.
