Q You've been talking to investors the past couple weeks. What kind of reception are you getting?

A I think we're really getting traction. A lot of these investors don't want to say what they are going to do. There are still several weeks before the vote so people are in the data-collecting stage. But we have found these shareholders to be very thoughtful. They really understand the points we're making.

Fortunately, El, Yahoo has a Language translator built right in called, Bablefish, and all you have to do is cut and paste up to 150 words in it and it will translate sentence by sentence!!!

Q: So, Wally, you have been runnin' the Dog and Pony show here for what, a couple of months, now, que pasa, (Yawn):

A: Well, I meet with these funds, and they all want to know if they can get invited up to the Grove sometime, and they are really thinking we have decided to vote against your ass, but we are certainly not going to tell you to your face, and we are going to think about it very much which means when you do find out we are voting against you, I hope you think we really thought about it, say for more than 30 seconds...:), and your a member of San Francisco, too, arn't cha, may be we can talk about it at the lincs????:))

Q HP also says that you do not have enough of a business background, especially compared to the other people on the board.

A I have been a close observer of Hewlett-Packard for more than 50 years. I have been on the board for more than 15 years. I have worked for the company on three separate occasions (the summers of 1964, 1967 and 1970). I really understand HP.

Well Wally just lost my vote. As the spoiled brat son of a factory owner I had a summer job in the years 66-69 as well. I can tell you for a fact that what was going on in the plant at any given time was the farthest thing from my mind. My only thoughts were what party I was going to that night.

If I ever based any business decision on what I learned those four summers I be flat broke now.
