No way this happens. Tyco would most probably need permission from the banks and the debtholders to buy back shares, and I can't imagine them letting Tyco send cash out the door. They'll have to pay down debt, first.

How does one track corporate bonds of TYCO to see how they're performing? It seems like this would be a way to separate the truth from the hype and hysteria. Thanks in advance.

Tyco is on record saying that they are planning to use cash from asset sales to pay-down debt. I think that's what the market wants to see, even though I think share-repurchase is a wiser use of company cash.
