Just a hunch, but February options expire today. There are quite a few outstanding 35s and 40s written during the past week. Are the option writers shorting the stock to make the options worthless or near worthless? It's quite likely. There is no real news that would justify the price action, notwithstanding reports of slower than expected wireless equipment shipments.

So where are we now, down to the same levels as last Friday? Of course, Southbound QCOM will continue make rapid up and down moves as it continues to crater. If you are smart and brave, you can make money trading this stock. If you are stupid, you will buy it and hold it for a few years.

The wireless sector has 7 national wireless networks. We need to see evidence of consolidation to get the irrational competition out of the way.

Why shouldn't VZ make a bid for NXTL or PCS now that the equity has been wiped out? All they would be paying for is the cost of the infrastructure represented by the long term debt.

I'm afraid it is. 1x is a dream before its time. Basically consumers don't give a sh*t.

Time to regroup.
