High end markets are not saturated

I was referring to CHKP's traditional target market, Large Enterprises not necessarily high-end products. Everything I have read says Large Enterprise is saturated. Most point out that Large Enterprise customers have been deploying firewalls for years (and CHKP is already providing the vast majority of corporate Firewall products) while small and medium sized enterprises are just beginning to take on this task and the vast majority of these deployments will be hardware. VPN appears to be the growth engine for now but from what I can gather, nearly 70% of CHKP's sales in 2001 included a VPN solution where the company bundled the VPN with the Firewall software and charged a small premium for the VPN function.

IDC forecasts that hardware will grow at a much faster rate than software and that eventually firewall/VPN will be embedded into networking devices.
