Just like a liberal. It is always somebody elses' fault, never the person who committed the act. Lets blame others!

That's not my reasoning for holding Mr. Yates in contempt.

Knowing Andrea was not stable, he continued to want more children. If she was marginal to begin with, adding the stress of having five kids in quick succession, and the stress of raising those children alone, in practical isolation, was not what one would call a GOOD IDEA. Raising five children as a housewife without an outlet is hard enough on totally SANE women, for crying out loud. Yates continually stated she felt trapped, that she needed a break. She became considerably more stable when she was in the hospital, and when they moved in with her mother temporarily. In other words, when the day to day stress and isolation was removed. It is also apparent that the only time she got affection from her husband was when she was hospitalized.

What the trial said to me was this: unstable woman in an uncaring marriage cracking under the strain of raising five kids alone in isolation. The Satan crap was added by the lawyers, in my opinion.

Half the blame lies with Mr. Yates as far as I am concerned. Andrea Yates should not have HAD five kids, let alone be left to raise them by her herself, considering her mental instability.
