indeed, the higher order thing is plausible
it is when people try to pick a specific higher order, and describe it, that the whole plausibility thing falls apart
because whatever the higher order thing is, it is apparent that at least a large percentage of the population of Earth have no idea what it is (the - "they can't all be right" problem")
and if they can't all be right, but could all be wrong, what is more likely?
when we are talking about fallible humans, who make mistakes constantly?

People are need based. We seek food to satisfy hunger. Why would we not seek understanding of our creation to satisfy the need know purpose in life.

Indeed. And why would anyone who does that object to a category organized around that need?

Jewel, I had lunch today with a friend who had attended the annual Planned Parenthood conference. She heard a speaker who impressed her very much named Riffat Hassan. Are you familiar with her?

One of the things Hassan talked about was the inappropriate use of the word "fundamentalist" in regards to Islam. She mentioned that was a Christian construct to cover the evangelical movement of the 20th century. I recall your similar objection to the word "clergy."
