The agency found Canada guilty of illegally subsidizing its lumber industry and set a countervailing duty of 19.3% on shipments from Canada. In a research note released Friday, Prudential stated its belief that the new lumber duty could be a huge negative for American producers such as Plum Creek Timber (PCL), Louisiana-Pacific (LPX), and Weyerhaeuser (WY).
