Don't you see the problem in that? If that demand resulted in Intel upping it's cpu total by 10 - 20% fine. But the fact that Intel just sold slightly over 32.5 mil. cpu's, and had to run 5 - 7 fabs full out to do it, does equate with yield problems; or the die are too big to allow the fabs to meet demand adequately.

Sigh, I guess I should expect this because it's been about 2 weeks and that's more than enough time for you to forget the other 50+ million chipset components Intel makes each quarter not including the StrongArm, ethernet, DSL, telecom, microcontrollers, network controllers, automotive, flash etc etc. How many times do you need to be reminded before you remember?

If they have to resort to thermal specifications of
66-69 C again and again,
you must be very close about yield problems:

Old Elmer's tune: yield is great, ramp is fine,
1,000,000 per week...

re: Now I realize Intel is in the process of building 3 superfabs
Elmer feels that those 3 superfabs with superior yields are needed to take "window of opportunity" away from poor yielding fab30. <ggg>
