Cheney/Bush are willing to sacrifice our soldiers to protect our country, but not willing encourage our public to
make a small change in lifestyle. Interesting.

Bullshit!!!

Ken

Hmm. All those SUV's were designed, built, and purchased within the past 14 months?

Our energy situation arose within the past 14 months?

There was somebody else in the White House for 8 years, just prior to GWB taking the helm 14 months ago, wasn't there? If he hadn't been so busy staining young interns' blue dresses and raising cash from the Communist Chinese, he might have had time to think about our nation's energy program.

Are you a victim of long term memory loss?

The wasteful driving habits of the public could change a lot if we had an administration that conservation was the patriotic thing to do.

Absolutely, in a New York minute...

Even in California, within ONE MONTH energy usage dropped 17% when the governor asked residents to cut back. It's still down over 10%.

Not only would this reduce dependence on Bush Inc's Saudi partners, it would reduce the price of gasoline for everyone, and boost the economy, create more jobs etc.

It would indeed be a patriotic thing for the president to do, to challenge Americans on ways to economize on oil.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't be in favor of Big Oil.

I guess we all have our priorities.

If Bush were to make a speech asking people to stop driving suv's, the anti bush people would yell about his trying to control our driving habits.

The blame lies on the people who buy them because they live in an imaginery world, one that they've created that makes them believe that they can't get through to the grocery store because they need an all terrain vehicle.

Please cite a quotation from VP Cheney from a reliable source wherein he "ridicules" conservation.

Either that or retract an obvious falsehood.
