From a Foreign Affairs Discussion thread post by unclewest "just received the latest copy of "The Drop", the Special Forces Assn magazine. Special Forces "A" Teams have buried small pieces of the WTC at various and important (to them) locations throughout afghanistan. the story of ODA (A team) 595 and how they participated in horseback cavalry attacks against taliban forces is incredible. Very nice memorial to the 4 Green Berets killed in Afghanistan and the 8 other SF soldiers killed while fighting in other locations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. i was reading yesterday about the $1,850,000 dollars 9/11 families are getting and recalled again the reward to Special Forces families for their sacrifice....the flag from their loved one's coffin. unclewest " Message 17261065

Let me say that when he speaks in public.....at least on American tv.....his rhetoric is much less confrontative. That's where I got the impression he was less hawkish. There is only one option that is now available to Israel: to decisively win the war that has been forced upon us. What is required of us today is not a willingness to clench our teeth and bear this ongoing violence. We must instead seek a total military victory against an implacable enemy that is waging a terrorist war against us. First, we must immediately dismantle the Palestinian Authority and expel Arafat. Second we must encircle the main Palestinian population centers, purge them of terrorists, and eradicate the terrorist infrastructure. Third, we must establish security separation lines that will allow Israeli armed forces to enter Palestinian territory, but prevent Palestinian terrorists from entering our towns and cities. So do you think this will do the trick? That at the end of this military operation.......its pretty clear that this is about to happen.........the Palestinians will be ready to talk peace? ted
