Yes, there are anti-Semites in France as there are racists in this country that burn down black churches

There have certainly not been 400 black church burnings in the last year. Even when it happened, there were a handful of incidents, and a huge fuss made over them. In France, M. Jospin has been denying the existence of organized anti-Semitism, and basically the French government has been tiptoeing in fear lest it set off the Arab minority that is committing the anti-Semitic acts. The one piece of good news from yesterday is that M. Jospin did note that the incident where a hooded gunman machine-gunned a Kosher butcher shop seems to be "premeditated". At least, he's acknowledging the reality of these incidents.

Thanks for the francophile perspective... However, I believe you failed to address the facts stated in Nadine's original post....

<In France, two synagogues have been destroyed and kosher butcher machine gunned, just in the last two days.

There have been over 400 incidents of vandalism or destruction against Jewish targets in the last year.>

What DO YOU THINK?

The Vichy Government was a 'puppet' govt. installed by a conquering army.

This is really true, this "government" was formed by a handful of CYA collabos. It was such a joke that they couldn't even install the frigging thing in Paris, it had to be put in an outpost in a town known for its spring water. Pétain was sentenced to the death penalty after the war; in the end he got life imprisonment on l'Ile de Yeu.

And - the supreme insult - he was booted out of l'Académie française.

Pierre Salinger had proof that a missile shot down TWA 800.

Did you say Pierre? Isn't that a French name?

Wasn't he Ambassador to France at one time?

Hmmmm.....interesting coincidences.

Must be the Vichy water he drank while stationed there.
