With modern technology the human population is probably building up variation. That is not "backing up". If circumstances change that there is a severe selection process then additional variation will be an asset to the preservation of the species.

"Evolutionary" implies "genetic". I'd give that a "maybe".

That's an implication we usually assume, but is it entirely legitimate? Social development among humans has been demonstrably marked by the survival of successful social structures and the demise of unsuccessful ones. Couldn't this be classified as an evolutionary process?
