Dan3,

Re: "Maybe Dell will buy AMD and tell Intel to take a hike...."

I doubt that Dell would want a "money losing bunch of whiners". Dell
is a winner, why would they want a loser like AMD ??!! <ggg>

Make It So,

ps because dell is likely getting better deal than anyone else, higher allocation for dell may have some negative effect on intel. And you are very right about growing influence of dell, so puppet would become a master

Intel had better not do anything to annoy what may soon become their only major OEM customer.

What a dreamer. The trend for major OEMs has been to drop AMD, never Intel. Gateway and IBM come to mind?

Dan,

I was never aware that Dell feared Intel....

Gateway didn't fear Intel when they chose AMD to supply uPs. However, Gateway shunned AMD later on. Most likely, it is too costly for a box maker to support two different brands of uPs. Instead, it is cheaper to support one.
