Right - I suspect that AMD will aim to align their mobile model numbers with their desktop model numbers. After their blatant mistake of calling a 1.3GHz Athlon 4 a "1500+" (which was caught be the Aberdeen Group, exploited by Intel, and left AMD wide open to ridicule), they have no doubt lost much credibility amongst their customers. Therefore, the only solution is to make the Mobile Athlon XP very much like the desktop Athlon XP to limit confusion. Then, they will be able to map model numbers over the same frequencies. The 1700+ will be a 1.47GHz processor. The 1400+ will most likely be 1.26GHz. Etc, etc. This is all in line with what I've been saying for months now about AMD's model numbering scheme. This is the first "right" thing they are doing to "save face". I don't know whether it will be enough, but we will soon see. wbmw
