Elmer,

Re: "What happened to Q1'03? The prelude to another slip..."

Is it the "process thingy" ??!! ... Maybe AMD thought people wouldn't
notice since they came up with such a "neat" new name. <ggg>

What happened to Q1'03? What is odd is that they are demoing an Opteron tomorrow.
Could it be .net related?

Elmer, Re: "What happened to Q1'03? The prelude to another slip..."

I think there was a slight change. Originally, Clawhammer was supposed to have a DP version set for Q1 2003, but now DP operation seems to be reserved for "Opeteron" - which had been set for a H1 2003 launch. It appears as if AMD is only intending Clawhammer to be UP only; that is, unless, it "unofficially" supports DP operation, a la Athlon XP.

Elmer, 1st shipments of Opterons in 1st half of 2003
What happened to Q1'03? The prelude to another slip...

Amazing that noone has jumped on this in 2 hours and 50 posts. They clearly said in the presentation that Clawhammer, to be called an Athlon, will ship in Q4, while the Triceratopteron, which is Sledge, will ship in the first half of 2003.
