I am on Clould nine, USA is in the Quarterfinals, pinch me, oh my God, is this an orgasmic dream or what??????

Due to all my anticipation, I did not wake up (alarm and all) until just before the second half! I saw the score 1-0 and I said, Ok, ok, we 'll just have to hold them off for 45 minutes, certainly doable. What I saw in the second half was a "small" Mexican team attacking aimlessly and never seriously threatening other than just a few occasions that Friedel took care of. What I saw was a gutsy American team with just one or two defense breakdowns in the whole game and a counterattack so deadly that it produced two goals and easily almost as many chances as the Mexicans did! We definitely have Mexico's number! These guys are developing an inferiority complex to us, they always had it but not in soccer, now it is pretty much total<g>. You could see it after the second goal that the Mexicans were done. Then they resorted to some tactics that have caused, at least myself, to never ever support these arseholes again! Way too many cheap shots and vicious hits...when the game is over, no one congratulated the American players let alone exchange jerseys, and then their coach blamed the loss on luck and the missed hand ball Penalty!!!!!!!!!Too ungrateful bunch of arseholes. Hey coach, let me tell you something, this US team is better than yours dude!! No excuses anymore that you never had a full team, it was our team that was missing some starters...Not only that, but you were also outcoached big time dude. When Arena brings four new guys in the lineup from nowhere who proceed to play their best games and you substitute in ballarina Hernandez (in the first half!!!!!!!!, dude, this guy should have quit soccer two years ago and concentrate on his modeling and probably dancing career) who proceeds to flop repeatedly (if there was ONE player who deserved a red for flopping, it would be him!)...admit it, you guys blew it...Good riddance, next!

Which brings us to......Germany

I would give my left ball to beat Germany and make it to.........oh my gosh, the semifinals????????????????????????

Nobody gave us a chance to beat the Mexicans, and nobody gives us a chance to beat the Germans. I still believe it is the perfect time to take revenge for 98...

Wow, what a sweet WC this one has been..

As far as Brazil goes, phew, they are very glad to advance. They looked bad outthere, hey every team is entitled to a bad night, they had theirs and still won 2-0 thanks to brilliant individual moves again...That disallowed goal was certainly a goal, I know this ref from CONCACAF games, I never liked him, he seems to play the "favourite"/home team too much and have always been involved in controversial calls...Sometimes, I wonder how they pick these guys (a lot of it is political BS, surprise<g>). One thing for sure, they sure looked beatable and England will provide their toughest test. And, guys, do not forget this shocking fact............Brazil has a REAL goalie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 94 someone predicted that the US will win the WC by 2010...maybe that person was right<g>

Tonight, I am seeing the Asian teams run Italy and Turkey to the ground. I think Japan and S. Korea are doing so well (of course the home advantage) because they did NOT have to advance playing Nepals and SriLankas the past two years....instead, they kept the same together and REALLY prepared for this for the past four years by playing tough opponents and working on the very important team loyalty/family aspect.(watch them what they do when they score a goal, they go and hug their coach FIRST!).

What I find unfair is that the Germans will have 5 days rest and the Americans only 3.

Oh, I almost forgot

ARENA FOR PRESIDENT

and

USA, USA, USA

I caught the last twenty five minutes of the first half of the US game, I am still missing the first twenty<g>

If my understanding is correct the term "Great Britain"(or Britain) includes Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England.

In the World Cup, each of these "countries" have their own team and participate in the qualifiers as independent entries.

That is why there would not be such a thing as a "British" national team in the world cup.

Therefore... England is well,,, just England (note the white flag with the red bands crossing at its length and width), that many fans carry

That flag is the cross of St. George.. red on white (cross at 90 degree angle)

plus

for Scotland you have the Cross of St. Andrew white on blue (diagonal)

plus

Ireland, cross of St. Patrick (also red on white --diagonal)

equals = The Union Jack

[I've always wondered about the Welsh -gg (mind you, they are the best Rugby players, and without a doubt the toughest beer drinkers) -gg
