Amen. Being a programmer these days is a loosing proposition. New "technology" like .NET have questionable lifespans and cost/benefit and are difficult to learn. The employers assume you are unqualified if your skills don't match their "requirements" verbatim, which seem to change completely every 6 months anyway. On top of that, they are moving jobs to asia for the development roles and leaving only the support (asskissing) gigs for the natives. Mothers, don't let your sons (and daughters) grow up to be programmers. Choose jobs that are easy to describe and can't be exported.

Thank God I'm retired and don't
have to keep up with the new technology.

Speaking of SEBL, my company (and I've mentioned this before) had a hefty contract with them. After a year, it was cancelled, paid out and we moved on to ORCL, with vastly better results.

SEBL sold us a bill of goods, which previous management was more than happy to buy (despite considerable internal disagreement on the purchase).
