RE:"Hammer shipments in Q4 with Hammer PC's for sale in Q1 03."

This may be another delay. What happened to the October release? I guess that was wishful thinking and not AMD's official word. OTOH, I remember an AMD official saying hammer PCs would be on shelves for Christmas...
AMDs engineers are starting to look like the keystone cops at a stoplight fire drill.
"It ain't that easy"- TM Tony. So all the infrastructure is ready but it's AMD that can't deliver this time?

When they say AMD is not "represented" at the high end, do they mean that the big boxmakers aren't including them?

Have I missed any announcements on when/if AMD will advertise their products to consumers? I seem to remember two empty promises - both over a year ago. To this date, nada.

Just wondering, thanks.

From here it looks safe to take some tax loss. I'll want to be back in - but I don't see how AMD will get back above $10 - $11 max until next year.

Heatsinker, thanks for the notes. I have two comments.

Re: "Full conversion to .13 in Dresden by end of Q3."

AMD moved this up from Q4. Since they've had trivial .13u production through most of Q2, that means that they plan to transition most of the entire fab in one quarter. I don't have intimate knowledge of manufacturing, but this sounds extremely high risk to me. AMD is desperate.

Re: "So it looks like BOTH unit and ASP's are down by 20%."

That means $68 ASP and 6.4M in unit volumes. That's very close to my estimate on the Intel thread of 6.4M in volumes and $70 ASP. Just speculation, but it's interesting that your math coincides with mine. AMD is going to have a shitty quarter - let's hope that things pick up by the end of the year.
