The 'god' part makes more sense than the 'flag' part IMO... everone can have their own god[s] and it's open to wide interpretation. The flag is just a symbol... who started that pledge anyway??? Wasn't it pretty recent?

I don't often disagree with you but we are a nation of a multitude of different people. Something has to tie us all together.

Little people come from all sorts of different back grounds. Many parents here speak most fondly of the lands they left sometimes far to negatively about the land they live in. My response to that is if the mother land was so much better than why in blazes are you here and do something to bring to this land the qualities you miss from the land you left.

To me rather than I pledge allegiance to myself and no one else there has to be a common ground on which all can bind. I do not agree with political jargon I have many thoughts about politics that certainly are not stemming from the arena being pristine in nature.

However we do have a nation and the future of it lies in the hands of its children. These children are the only source we have to create positive change.
