I think the proximity to Daytona where #3 Dale Earnhardt died last year gives it a closer tie to NASCAR. But you have a point, the Florida tent preachers are losing a step.

I think I'll go with the goat as the ghost of Mr. Earnhardt's race car, although a subtle nod to the Kingston Trio isn't totally out of the question.
