As I read this story, she's not in jail because she's addicted -- she's in jail because she didn't follow through with treatment as she agreed she would. I think the Republican position in such a case generally does not exhibit much sympathy.

Gee conservatives say we can win the war on drugs. Gee liberals say we can win the war on poverty. Gee the rest of us lose to the corrupt bureaucrats that push the above ideas.
