Also gives me a 589 kb/s.... but then I am forcing 2 links through my hub/router today... {gee like I just realized that} and stock quotes servers...

For those that want to go crazy testing, here's a site to start:
home.cfl.rr.com

There is a fix available that usually increases bandwidth. Many cable providers, which may include DSL providers, purposely limit your bandwidth, so they can move more people onto the same leg of their network. The fix increased my performance from about 500K to well over 2Mbps and up to 4Mbps when I have two downloads running at the same time.

If you want I can publish a pointer to the site that has this fix. I will need to look for it.

Gottfried

I've used the tweaks at speedguide on every computer I have owned and haven't been let down yet.
