Brian, how solid? Wish I knew. This well known investor says we're in a secular bear investorshub.com

Brian,

I think it is beyond the ability of TA support levels to be meaningful in a 5 year span for technology companies. Large country currencies, perhaps. But tech business changes very much to the point that the company is not really in the same business after 5 years. Or the market / competition is radically changed. TA is meaningful only if the fundamentals are comparable.

I think AMAT will stay under $20/sh until it shows 2 Q's of sequential growth.

I'm going by my experience in '98. Everything was in the toilet in the spring. But by December they were all going up nicely. I don't know how the timing will work this time, but we need that upward trend in rev and earnings.

Brian, we are effectively below the 97 levels when you factor in the increase in net working capital to date.
