I have no musical training. I've been trying to go to school off those hereabouts who have some. I'm not sure I understand the comments about being out of tune. The best I can tell, the two songs that were written for the show, as sung by both the finalists, had no discernable tune, at least for more than a few bars here and there. Like much modern music, the sequence of notes makes no sense to me. I like music with a melody. The stuff that doesn't have one, they can keep. So I don't understand how anyone can assess that they were sung out of tune. I'd be delighted to be edified about this.
