Oh my God.

Oh, Poet. Thank you for sharing that with us. It's a remarkable story, lucidly told.

I had tears in my eyes almost from the beginning, but when she picked up her grandfather.......

Oh my God, Poet.

Does she have a "summary" of her feelings about it all now?

Is she very glad she went?

Part of what happened to her by the end of the visit is exhaustion, and part is simple "culture shock," of course. Though that's not so simple.

Poet, that is a beautiful story and an adventure that will take days and weeks for her to tell. How lucky she was to have had you adopt her and then luckier to have your support in finding her roots. I wonder if she will return to Korea again or be satisfied now just with the knowing.

She now has the experience and knowledge of her two families. I think that she is very brave to have completed this journey on her own. My wishes go to her for love and luck in her future.

Poet,

I have been waiting for you to share this story. Disappointed up to this time, that it was taking you so long. <wink> Of course I am jesting, though as you know I was quite interested in hearing how the trip went.

What an amazing story. From your saying that you became a Mom in the Boston Airport, to your daughter's return from the Korea, nearly 20 years later. She has expressed a tremendous amount of courage embarking on such a trip. I also have a great respect for your willingness to allow and hopefully not feel threatened by your daughter exploring her birth heritage.

Do keep us posted on what her reaction is as she has time to absorb and reflect on this part of her life.

Most of us, have never faced the blessings and challenges of adopting a child from overseas, much less the story that has unfolded for your family. I bet I speak for more than just myself, when I say that it would be most interesting to live vicariously through you in this chapter of life.

Jane

Just catching up here Poet. What a strong mother you are to publicly disclose such an intimate issue. That entire reunion must have been so hard for you.

I am reminded of that old line: "If you love something let it go; if it comes back..."

Good for all of you'se...
