$130 billion trade deficit: I remember being told shortly ago that the falling dollar would help the trade deficit...

Unemployment: IBM, Consolidated Freight, and numerous others all dropped substantial numbers during the past month - of course the unemployment number was going to be bad - what are they thinking?

Government's pay-as-you-go rules expiring: maybe the fed gov't can get Ford to finance its operations for a while. Nothing down, no interest, and...no payments until Jan 2003!

I shouldn't really be so facetious when things are this grim - but they make it too easy...
