<it has resulted a veeeeery quiet opposition. >

IMHO, its quite possibly because discussions were held, they were reflected in the speech, and now its 'watch, wait' and support when (notice I did not say *if*) a convincing case is made.

cheers, kumar

have not had any luck at watching politicians speeches since Kennedy. Bush's close set eyes and smirk really turn me off. Gore is so pompous and solemn that I don't know how anybody sets through his speeches.

I had the advantage of listening to both speeches on the radio during long-distance drives; which probably gave me a different impression than those who watched them on tv got.

But, from a technical standpoint, Bush's UN speech was a masterpiece, IMO. And it has resulted in a veeeeery quiet opposition.

Yup. They begged him to compromise, and he has. And the compromise position is: War! But Diplomacy First! Let's see if they can keep to Henry K's suggested schedule of wasting about a month on the diplomatic decencies.
