I was a fan of Hill Street Blues, of course. A friend of mine, who had directed me in a college production of Jean Anouilh's "Antigone" (as the Chorus), was a writer for Hill Street Blues the first year, but bailed for fear of cancellation. He was the supervising producer, and sometime writer, for Remington Steele for awhile. Eventually, he had some success with a movie called "The Spitfire Grill", with Ellen Burstyn, as writer and director. Another friend had a bit part in one episode of Hill Street Blues. He ended up writing for Disney, notably collaborating on the script for "Newsies" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".

Yeah, this is bound to be a great "Survivor" season. And just in time...
