I don't read The Nation. I'm up to my eyeballs in words as it is.

Is the Politt piece available online?

I just went to the Weather.com site. You all may have noticed the new type of Web ad that superimposes an image of an ad over your screen (obscuring for a few seconds the text of the site underneath). Well, this site has an ad for Nexium, which I think is a prescription stomach acid reducing medication which they are marketing as "the purple pill". On the site, it rains purple pills for a few seconds followed by a slogan for Nexium.

I don't know exactly why, but I found that kind of disturbing, watching purple pills float across my screen (or my kid's screen when they surf).
