Imagine if the Democrats had ruled the States since the Civil war, they all spoke Spanish, and the best job you could get as a Republican was as a part time garbage collector. Although the Spanish a minority group, they controlled the politics of the country by arranging a preponderance of elected representatives from California and New Mexico. Insisting that Spanish people founded the country, they would speak of a 50-50 Spanish partnership with the Yankees. Honours and appointments would if not given to Spanish people would be handed only to minorities. The history would be rewritten to downplay the revolutionary war as a tyrannical takeover by British sympathizers. In order to get its dirty political work done the Spanish enlist stooges from native population to discredit their enemies in various ways. Every 4 years, California, which would be totally Spanish speaking and punished people for speaking English, would threaten to secede from the Union if it could not enforce Spanish culture and language on all its inhabitants by unconstitutional law. If one wanted to work in the government in any executive job one would have to speak Spanish as well as English.
No government contracts, federal grants or loans including student loans would be available to solely English speaking people, or people who where not avowed democrats.
