NXTL is the most heavily shorted stock in the universe, according to the tables in this week's Barron's. Remember something called Netscape? Yahoo? Dot-coms in general? They just went up and up, not in spite of, but because of, massive short positions against the stocks.
Actually, buying stocks that the hedgie's have big short positions in can be quite profitable _ short term. Just be careful not to overstay the party.
