It doesn't make sense to me that the solution to poorly-spent taxpayers' money is to tax less. I'd say it's to make sure it's spent better.

We disagree pretty fundamentally on this issue so I'll spare you a long drawn out battle post. <g>

But with respect to this one paragraph you wrote, I do have a question for you to ponder. Think back to the times in your life when you have been forced to get by with less money, versus those times when money was more abundant. Would you say that when your resources were scarcer, you put forth a greater effort to spend what you did have more wisely? Isn't it true that generally people and organizations spend their first dollar on the thing that has the highest priority (for me, food <g>), and their last dollar on the thing that has the lowest priority? So why wouldn't a cut in resources to the government cause the money to be spent better?
