N still splits wood, though we have more delivered (we have a pretty cheap source) than we take from the woods, now. I still get the kindling, but if I'm laggard about it, N buys fatwood sticks. We have a fire in the woodstove all day during the winter. It's no cheaper than the gas since we buy so much, but it's soooo nice crackling away. I looked at the link, and saw that the poem raises many moral/philosophical questions, but I just couldn't deal....
